Manali is a hill station nestled in the mountains of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu valley. It is located at about 260 km north of the state capital , Shimla. The small town is the beginning of an ancient trade route to Ladakh and from there over the Karakoram Pass on to Yarkand and Khotam in the Tarim Basin in China.

Manali is a very good holiday destination especially in the summers when the hillside is filled with colorful flowers.
